Referring to our letter of 10th September last, We beg to explain that owing to an erroneous supposition on the part of the writer the statement therein made was incorrect. In addition to the $450,000 Note issue in Hongkong fixed under Hongkong Ordinance No. 2 of 1895, the Bank is authorized by resolution of the Board of Directors to issue up to $50,000 in notes at Amoy and these notes are redeemable there.
